Purdue Greeks, cooperatives grades continue to surpass average student GPA
For the 21st consecutive semester, the average GPA of Greek and cooperatives’ grades have exceeded that of the average Purdue student. Grades for the Fraternity, Sorority and Cooperative Life organizations averaged a 3.28 GPA in the Spring 2024 semester, while the all-undergraduate semester average was 3.23. The FSCL membership comprised 7,019 members among 79 groups, or 18.7% of Purdue undergraduates.
Purdue inaugurates Indianapolis campus
On Thursday, Purdue and government officials marked the inauguration of Purdue’s new urban main-campus extension in Indianapolis. The event was held at Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis and represents Purdue’s renewed prowess in the capital, along with the formal end of what was IUPUI, the combined Indianapolis-based campus that housed Indiana University and Purdue.
Teenager stabbed at City Bus Center in Downtown Lafayette
A Lafayette teenager is in critical condition after he was stabbed near the City Bus center in Downtown Lafayette Thursday afternoon, Lafayette Police said. The 17 year old juvenile male victim was transported to the hospital after police arrived at the scene of the stabbing around 2 p.m. at 316 N. 3rd St, Lafayette. As of Thursday evening he remains in critical condition.

A rural West Lafayette man faces 11 criminal charges related to a traffic stop in Lafayette on Monday. Ryan Kidder, 31, of 314 Leatherwood Way, West Lafayette was driving through an area under surveillance from members of the Tippecanoe County Sherriff’s Department when an officer noticed his car had expired plates. The officer followed the vehicle and noticed other infractions including making turns without signaling and driving left of center, according to an affidavit filed by the prosecutor’s office on Wednesday morning.
