The festival will feature performances from several traditional roots music artists, according to the nonprofit group’s website.

Ferdinand the Bull, an Americana Roots Rock group from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, local solo jazz artist Brendt Laidler and the Levi Riggs Band, a modern country act, are all scheduled to perform at the festival this Saturday.

“American Roots Music encompasses numerous music genres steeped in the folk tradition,” according to the website. “(It) is a broad category of music including bluegrass, gospel, old time, Celtic, jug band, blues, Appalachian Folk, Cajun and Native American.”

The annual Bryan Metzger Memorial Legacy Award will also be presented at the festival.

“Julie Doan Baumann was selected for this year’s recipient because of her dedication to the students at the Tippecanoe School Corp.,” according to the website. “She plans to introduce her students to traditional music by implementing ukuleles into her lessons.”

In addition to its featured acts and the ceremony, the group’s website states that it will offer a beer garden at the venue’s Rush Pavilion.
