Paradoxes abound in new era of Purdue basketball
Purdue will seemingly change more than it has in years this coming season. And at the same time, things are the same as ever. “We’ll do a lot of the same things as in the past,” head coach Matt Painter said at a summer practice last week. “We won’t have as much in a certain area as other years. Obviously the ball’s gonna be in Braden Smith’s hands. Fletcher Loyer’s gonna get more actions.”

On stage as one of the seven officers of Indiana’s branch of the National FFA Organization, Carson Rudd stood out. Train derails near Harrison Bridge
Four train cars derailed near Ninth Street in Lafayette which resulted in the temporary closing of the Harrison Bridge early on Saturday afternoon. Two of the four derailed train cars had hazardous materials, but there were no leaks, Lafayette police say. Authorities are still looking into the cause of the derailment.

A train derailment near Ninth Street in Lafayette has closed the Harrison Bridge early on Saturday afternoon. In a press release, Lafayette Police indicated that four train cars were involved. Those cars hit bridge supports causing its closure. Two of the four train cars were carrying hazardous materials, but no leaks have been identified.
