    E.E. Smith girls' basketball players among four Fayetteville seniors chosen for All-Star game

    The North Carolina Coaches Association's East-West All-Star teams have been released for boys' and girls' basketball.

    The All-Star game will be played on July 15 in Greensboro, and four Fayetteville-area basketball seniors from three different high schools will participate in the star-studded East roster.

    Here are the four athletes and how they fared in their senior season.

    Ari Fulton, Westover — Fulton officially signed his NLI to NJIT to play basketball for the Highlanders next winter. In his senior year as a Wolverine, Fulton led Westover to a 29-2 overall record to become the 3A East region runners-up with 19 points per game, and 10.9 rebounds.

    Kayia Starling, Cape Fear — Starling was a three-point sniper for the Colts and was the Robin to Jayda Angel's Batman in their senior year. Starling helped Cape Fear win the United 8, and finish with a 27-2 record. She averaged 13.3 ppg, led the team in blocks with 2.6, and ranked 12th in the state with 76 made 3-pointers.

    Janna Tupuola, E.E. Smith — Tupuola was a defensive anchor for the Golden Bull-ettes. She led the 20-8 team in rebounds with 7.2, made 50% of her shots on the season, and collected three steals a game.

    DeNaira Williams, E.E. Smith — The UNC-Pembroke commit only played 10 games for E.E. Smith after transferring from Trinity Christian in January and became a huge push offensively for Latanya Hardy's team. Williams averaged 13.8 points, five rebounds, and two steals as a Golden Bull-ette.
