    How Big Can a Tiny House Be?

    The tiny house movement has taken the world by storm and is intriguing to many. But what defines a tiny house? Is it just the size of the home or other factors such as mobility, amenities, or design?

    It turns out that size is the only factor determining whether a home is a tiny house. While many tiny homes are mobile, they do not have to be in order to be classified as tiny houses.

    According real estate code, any home that is 400 square feet or less (excluding loft areas) is considered a tiny home. However, most people consider any home 500 square feet and smaller to be a tiny home.

    The number and type of amenities do play a part in the classification, so feel free to design as many features as you can into your tiny home!
