Georgia School Districts Allowing Teacher to Carry Weapons?

GEORGIA (GA) - Although the Georgia state legislature approved teachers to carry weapons into the classroom in 2014, only 3 school districts currently allow it. Who are they?

The first Georgia school district to allow teachers to carry weapons in the classroom was Laurens County in 2018.

Since then, Gordon County and Fannin County have made the decision to allow teachers to carry in the classroom.

It is important to note that other school districts, such as Cobb County, allow certain school non-police employees to carry weapons, but not teachers.

School districts are taking the necessary steps to ensure the proper training of employees carrying on school grounds.
