Episcopal's season ended against Florida's No. 1 team, closing the season with a 17-3 loss to Delray Beach American Heritage in Friday's Florida High School Athletic Association Class 1A girls lacrosse semifinals at Paradise Coast Sports Complex in Naples.

American Heritage (21-1) advanced to Saturday's state final against Lake Highland Prep of Orlando.

Victoria Tomonto led the American Heritage offense with seven goals, while Emma Hrzich tallied three and Chiara Scichilone added two more, as the top seeds swarmed the Episcopal net with 30 shots.

The Stallions pulled away from the start, using their speed and strength on the draw to race to a 7-1 first-quarter advantage.

Payten Cree, Maeve O'Neil and Bella Vitulli scored the goals for the Eagles (13-8), and goalie Ava Freel recorded seven saves.

With only one graduating senior, Episcopal is scheduled to return nearly its entire lineup from a roster that qualified for the second FHSAA final four in program history.
