Huey Magoo's Chicken Tenders, an Orlando-based fast-casual restaurant known for its fresh, cooked-to-order grilled, hand-breaded or "sauced" premium chicken tenders, recently opened the third of six planned Jacksonville-area restaurants.

The new restaurant at 76020 William Burgess Blvd., in Yulee's Wildlight community, joins Huey Magoo's locations at 10560 Old St. Augustine Road in Jacksonville and 3952 3rd St. S. in Jacksonville Beach. A fourth location is open at 2490 U.S. 1 South in St. Augustine. At Wildlight, Huey Magoo's joins Grumpy's Restaurant, Anejo Cocina Mexicana, Firehouse Subs, Mocama Wildlight, and Hana Sushi.

The locations and timeline for the future Jacksonville-area restaurants haven't been announced.

Veteran local restauranteur Michael Phillips is the franchisee for the Wildlight location, as well as Huey Magoo's restaurants in Jacksonville and Jacksonville Beach.

“This is our third restaurant in the market, and we couldn't be more thrilled to bring our phenomenal offerings to the booming Wildlight community at Yulee,” Phillips said in a news release announcing the Wildlight opening. Phillips previously was a multi-unit franchise owner with Jersey Mike's Subs and Little Caesars Pizza.

The 2,000-square-foot Wildlight location is among 34 Huey Magoo's restaurants in Florida, the company's website shows.

It also is Huey Magoo's 66th restaurant spanning 12 states. In addition, hundreds more franchises have been sold in 13 states, restaurant officials said in the news release.

Huey Magoo's in Wildlight is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
