Even though we’ve seen some notable restaurant closings already this year, plenty of new restaurants have opened across Jacksonville – and even more are on the way.
From burger, taco and pizza joints to Italian and Mexican restaurants to breakfast, brunch and buffet spots, the area’s dining scene is growing, from downtown to the Beaches to the Southside, Westside, St. Johns and more, not just the St. Johns Town Center, which has served as the destination for many restaurant chains entering the market over the last two decades.

Flame Broiler, a California-based restaurant known for its healthy, Korean-inspired rice bowls and plates opened a double drive-thru-only restaurant on Jacksonville's Westside in April. It's the fifth area Flame Broiler from local franchise owner Jackie Grzebin. | Read more

1027 Danmac Lane, Jacksonville
Hwy55 Burgers, Shakes & Fries opened in June at 1027 Danmac Lane off Commonwealth Avenue on the Westside. The retro-themed North Carolina diner is known for its hand-pattied, fresh-never-frozen burgers along with premium cheesesteaks, frozen custard and fries. Signature offerings include the Americana Burger, The Moose Chicken Cheesesteak, Shrimp Po'Boy or Carolina Classic Cheeseburger. | Read more
Keke's Breakfast Cafe
9570 Crosshill Blvd., Suite 106, Jacksonville
An Orlando-based restaurant known for its freshly made-to-order fare has opened its fifth Jacksonville-area breakfast, brunch and lunch restaurant. Keke's Breakfast Cafe opened March 27 at 9570 Crosshill Blvd., Suite 106, in Oakleaf Town Center. Keke's is best known for its large breakfast menu of waffles, pancakes, French toasts and more as well as a lunch menu of paninis, sandwiches, burgers, wraps and salads. Two Sisters and a Deviled Crab
1910 Wells Road, Orange Park
Two sisters craving a taste of home introduced Tampa-style deviled crab to the food court at Orange Park Mall in April after a successful run as a popular food truck. The siblings' unique Cuban-influenced deviled crab reigns as their signature dish. But the restaurant also features other seafood dishes such as lobster mac & cheese balls, crab cornbread and a fried salmon BLT. | Read more
ZEN Pho & Noodles
5835 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville
A Gainesville-based restaurant highlighting Vietnamese pho, stir fry noodles, bao buns and rice bowls debuted in May in Jacksonville. ZEN Pho & Noodles, which opened at 5835 Normandy Blvd., is known as "the home of the ribeye pho" and also showcases other Pan-Asian cuisine including summer rolls and banh mi. Every dish is made to order. ZEN Pho & Noodles also offers gluten-free and dairy-free dishes as well as vegan and vegetarian options.
