MIAMI GARDENS — Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill was reportedly detained before the team's home opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

ESPN’s Jeff Darlington reported that Hill was cited for reckless driving outside of the stadium and got into a verbal altercation with officers which was eventually de-escalated and led to his release.

Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that Hill still intends to play in the contest that’s set for kickoff at 1 p.m.

A video that’s circulating social media showed Hill in handcuffs after what seemed to be a driving violation of some sort.

The video was shot outside of Hard Rock Stadium and showed several officers surrounding the star wide receiver.

According to the Dolphins, several other Miami players saw the incident and stopped to offer support. All players will be available for the season-opening game.

In a statement issued early Sunday afternoon through social media, Miami-Dade Police Department director Stephanie V. Daniels said, "We are aware of the recent detainment of Miami Dolphins player Tyreek Hill by Miami-Dade Police Department officers. I have requested an immediate review of all details surrounding the incident, and we are also reviewing available body camera footage. We will provide updates as further information becomes available."
