MIAMI GARDENS — Has the Jaguars play-calling question finally been answered? Maybe.

The Jacksonville Jaguars jumped out to an early 14-0 lead against the Dolphins thanks to a back of the end zone touchdown catch form Brian Thomas Jr., marking the first touchdown of the rookies career.

Thomas also drew a pass interference call on former Jaguars defensive back Jalen Ramsey earlier in the game that led to a short Travis Etienne touchdown.

But who was calling plays for the team?

It appeared that Press Taylor, who made the move to be on the field instead of the box this season, was calling plays for Jacksonville’s offense in the first quarter.

Taylor seemed to be the person communicating plays to quarterback Trevor Lawrence as the Jaguars ran their offense.

Doug Pederson has kicked the idea around of potentially taking back over play calling after the team’s struggles last season. Even as recently as Wednesday , Pederson still did not have an answer to whether he’d resume those duties.

The reality is, without being on the coaches’ headset, there’s no real way to know the answer.

Unless, of course, Pederson or Taylor answers the question the next time it’s asked.
