Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Evan Engram sustained a hamstring injury during pregame warmups and has been ruled out, the team announced.

The Jaguars will have their home opener against the Cleveland Browns at 1 p.m. and will do so without a major key to their offense.

Engram had a career-high 114 catches in 2023, becoming a safety blanket for Trevor Lawrence as the team's other pass catchers sustained injuries.

He recorded one catch for five yards against the Miami Dolphins last week but is a major part of Jacksonville's offense.

Against Cleveland last year, Engram caught 11 passes for 95 yards and two touchdowns.

Second-year tight end Brenton Strange and Luke Farrell will likely handle Engram's load for today's game. There will likely be an update on Engram's future status after the game.

In addition to Engram, the Jaguars will be without defensive back Darnell Savage, offensive linemen Javon Foster and Cole Van Lanen and defensive linemen Tyler Lacy, Maason Smith and Jordan Jefferson.

Cornerback Tyson Campbell was placed on the injured reserve list earlier this week. He'll miss a minimum of four games after suffering a hamstring injury last week against Miami.
