Jacksonville Jaguars' Doug Pederson: 'Has to be a sense of urgency' to fix offense

Jacksonville Jaguars coach Doug Pederson conducted his Monday media availability via a Zoom call a day after an 18-13 loss to the Cleveland Browns and addressed multiple issues related to the team's 0-2 start, its lethargy on offense and playing at Buffalo on Monday night.

"I think it starts in practice. I think we can do somethings differently in practice and how we attack ... each period in practice."

"The game plan is the game plan. You can simplify it as much as you want but it doesn't change the fact that you've got to start fast, right? That just goes without saying. It just has to be an awareness, just a sense of urgency by everybody, the entire football team. I think we can maybe mix some things up and [a] little more attention to detail in practice."

Why does Doug Pederson have confidence in the offensive line ?

"I think the confidence is still there. Ans I think the communication is what is probably the biggest issue. Some of the hits [on quarterback Trevor Lawrence], whether it was Trevor or [center] Mitch [Morse] ... these are things we've got to fix, making protection calls. Confidence is still high and it's going to remain high and we've got to get these five guys together."

Doug Pederson thinks playing in Monday night will be a spark

"It's a great opportunity for us to go on the road and play a good Buffalo Bills football team ... a great opportunity for our guys to kind of get fired up and look forward to playing."
