Is that Trevor Lawrence? Picture of Duke in Italy has striking resemblance to Jaguars QB

Imagine the surprise of loyal reader Fred Seeley , a former Times-Union editor, as he was visiting the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy, this week when he spotted a painting of John IV Crispo , a sovereign Duke of the Archipelago, who ruled from 1517 until his death in 1564.

Any Jaguars fan seeing the portrait of Crispo, also known as Giovanni IV , would instantly wonder if the family genealogy of quarterback Trevor Lawrence has royalty dating back to the 16th century on his family tree. In the painting, the Crispo resemblance to Lawrence is hard to ignore.

No information on why Crispo’s 47-year reign lasted at least three times longer than most of the 10 previous rulers from the Crispo dynasty or if he came into power labeled as a “generational ruler.”
