Jacksonville Jaguars mascot Jaxson de Ville is many things: entertainer, acrobat, daredevil and the team's biggest cat.

    Add author to his talents.

The Jaguars announced on Sept. 27 that Jaxson has launched a children's book, "Jaxson's Big Jump," which will take kids behind the scenes on how the Hall of Fame mascot prepares and pulls off his high-flying stunts for Jaguars fans on game day.

The book is as told to Alex Shepard and illustrated by Devin Carvajal. It will have a limited edition print run of 4,000 copies and retail for $19.95.

Where can fans find a copy of Jaxson de Ville's book?

Jaxson's Big Jump initially will be available at fanatics.com to fans who sign up for the site's "Be the First" landing page. They will receive an email reminder when the book is ready for shipping.

The book is scheduled to be in Fanatics Pro Shops, including the Miller Electric Center location, beginning on Oct. 25.

“On the heels of Jaxson’s recent Mascot Hall of Fame induction, you can add ‘children’s book author’ to his ever-growing list of accomplishments,” said Christy Stechman Zynda, Jaguars director of entertainment groups and grassroots events in a statement. “Kids of all ages will enjoy this book about Jaxson’s most legendary stunt as he gears up for game day.”

Jaguars players will read book to kids in coming months

The book also will be made available to kids on the First Coast in the coming months at Literacy Locker Room (Jaxson’s Version) events, sponsored by JEA at five area schools.

Jaguars’ players, Legends and/or entertainment representatives will read the book to students and provide meet-and-greets with Jaxson himself and The Roar cheerleaders. Each classroom at the schools will receive a copy of the book as well.

Earlier this week, patients at Nemours Children’s Clinic were given a sneak peek of the book with a special reading by former Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee and received a backpack with an autographed book from Jaxson and photo opportunities with the mascot and The Roar.

Nemours will also host an upcoming Literacy Locker Room (Jaxson’s Version) this fall.
