    How rich is Shad Khan? Jaguars owner gets $1.1 billion bump in net worth, Forbes says

    Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan has more than a billion more in the bank since April and remains the fifth-richest NFL owner.

    Forbes Magazine released its list of the 400 wealthiest Americans this week and Khan, who has owned the Jaguars since 2012, is estimated to have a net worth of $13.3 billion, up from $12.2 million in April when it released its list of the world’s richest people.

    Khan ranks behind David Tepper (Carolina Panthers, $21.3 billion), Stephen Ross (Miami Dolphins, $17 billion), Stan Kroenke (Los Angeles Rams, $16.9 billion) and Jerry Jones (Dallas Cowboys, $15.2 billion) among NFL owners.

    Shad Khan is No. 64 on Forbes 400

    Khan is ranked as the 64th wealthiest in America by Forbes. The top three are Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk ($244 billion), Amazon founder Jeff Bezos ($197 billion) and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg ($181 billion).

    Microsoft CEO Steve Balmer, who owns the NBA's Los Angeles Clippers, is the richest pro sports owner in America ($123 billion). The wealthiest Major League Baseball team owner is Steve Cohen of the New York Mets ($21.3 billion).

    Forbes reported that its 400 list has a combined net worth of $5.4 trillion, with a record of 12 worth $100 billion or more.

    What other business interests does Shad Khan have?

    Khan, who has made it a practice of never commenting publicly on his personal finances, made his initial fortune through Flex-N-Gate, a truck bumper company that has 76 facilities and more than 27,000 employees worldwide. He also owns the Fulham soccer team in England and co-owns AEW Wrestling with his son, Tony.

    The Jaguars and Jacksonville reached announced a deal on June 25 in which the city will pay $775 million towards the new stadium, 55 percent of the cost. Khan will pay for the rest.

    The Jaguars are off to an 0-4 start after Khan proclaimed them before the season to be "the best team assembled by the Jaguars. Winning now is the expectation."

    How high did Forbes rank the Jaguars valuation?

    Forbes ranked the Jaguars 26th on its list of NFL valuations ($4.6 billion) in August, an increase of 15 percent over last year.

    Forbes reports that the Jaguars' revenue last year was $567 million and its operating income is $139 million.

    The Jaguars were valued at $4 billion in 2023, which was 15 percent higher than the previous year. Khan purchased the team from Wayne Weaver for $770 million, which means the value has increased by nearly $4 billion.
