Clovis East’s Harold Duvall verbally commits to Fresno State. ‘They care about me’

It was an easy decision for Clovis East senior wide receiver Harold Duvall, who verbally committed to Fresno State this past weekend.

Duvall knew two months ago that he wanted to be a Bulldog.

Even with Jeff Tedford no longer the coach , Duvall still wanted to be a part of the team next season.

“I love JT,” Duvall said. “But coach (Tim) Skip(per) has a new swagger coming to Fresno State. I really like it. I like what he’s going to do with the program.”

The three-star recruit by 247 Sports held offers from Arizona, Colorado State, Nevada and Washington.

Duvall said he didn’t want to go into the season without making a verbal commitment.

There were plenty of things that Duvall liked about Fresno State, especially one in particular.

“They’ve always shown that they care about me,” he said. “They actually care about my well being. I wanted to make my decision before the season so I don’t have any pressure about committing during the season and worrying about getting hurt.”

Duvall, listed at 6-foot-3, has been one of the focal points on Clovis East’s offense with UC Davis commit Tyus Miller throwing to him.

After all, both have been playing together since before high school.

“I give a lot of credit to him because some of those plays, like shouldn’t be caught; and he goes out there and he makes me look good,” Miller said.

“I think that’s huge for him going to Fresno State and I think it will be a great fit.”

Last season, Duvall finished with 31 receptions for 976 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also had three interceptions when he played as a defensive back.

Clovis East kicks off the season Aug. 23 at West-Salt Lake City.

Duvall said he is looking forward to the season and credits his teammates for getting him to where he is at.

“I love my teammates,” he said. “My quarterback, my O-line, and without the running backs, that couldn’t open up the deep threat for me. It’s really a team effort.”
