A man was shot and killed while riding a bicycle in Fresno early Sunday

The shooting happened just after 4 a.m. in the 4400 block of East Floradora Avenue, near Cedar and McKinley avenues.

Officers arrived and found the 40-year-old victim on the sidewalk with three gunshot wounds.

He was taken to the hospital where he later died, police said.

In an update Monday, police identified the victim as Ricardo Martinez Olguin.

Police said Olguin was conscious when officers arrived and he told them he had been shot by someone on a bicycle.

Police said they have not determined the motive for the shooting.

It was the 23rd homicide in Fresno this year. At this time last year, there were 24, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 559-621-7000 .
