High school football: Clovis North dominates on offense and defense in win over SJM

Clovis North showed why they are the defending Central Section Division I high school football champions.
The Bee’s top-ranked Broncos did it on offense and defense in a 24-0 victory over San Joaquin Memorial on Friday night.
After a field goal, Clovis North got going in the second quarter when Lucas Smith connected on a 13-yard touchdown throw to Tyree Sams.
The Broncos just kept pushing after that and it was all in the air rather than on the run that’s given Clovis North success last season.
Smith threw his second touchdown when he found Brody Kruse for 9 yards as time expired in the first half.
The Broncos defense also forced a fumble in the third quarter.
Sams added to his night when he had an interception late in the fourth quarter.
Clovis North senior running back McKay Madsen finally found the end zone, but he went the distance on a 56 yard run in the third quarter.
