Alabama high school baseball playoffs second round is over and only three Gadsden area teams remain.
All three teams reside in Etowah County with Sardis, Coosa Christian and Westbrook Christian still alive in the hunt for a Blue Map. Before looking at the third round, here's how Gadsden area teams did in the second round.

Sardis sweeps Madison Academy
Game 1: Sardis wins 11-5
Game 2: Westbrook Christian wins 5-0
Connor Lowery and Blaze Gerhart dominated on the mound for the Lions. Lowery had six strikeouts, allowing one run while Gerhart struck out 13 in a one-hit-shutout.
Up next: No. 2 Sardis host No. 1 Alexandria
Southside swept by Springville
Game 1: Springville wins 10-4
Game 2: Springville wins 9-2
Southside season ends at 20-18.
Etowah swept by Corner
Game 1: Corner wins 9-5
Game 2: Corner wins 4-1
The defending champs go down in the second round. They will lose a few key seniors, but get Jameson Scissum back for one more season. They end the year going 20-14.
Westbrook Christian sweeps Colbert County
Game 1: Westbrook Christian wins 4-2
Game 2: Westbrook Christian wins 2-0
Ace behavior from both Dylan Rainey and Braden Kay, who allowed Colbert County to only get seven hits over the two games, see the Warriors advance once again to the quarterfinal round. Kay had 10 K's in the series clinching win.

Coosa Christian sweeps Addison
Game 1: Coosa Christian wins 6-3
Game 2: Coosa Christian wins 4-0
The Conquerors once again rolled getting the bats going early in wins that saw them control the series early.

Ashville swept by Deshler
Game 1: Deshler wins 5-4
Game 2: Deshler wins 1-0
Ashville ends the season going 19-15 and winning the area title for the first time in over 20 years.
Collinsville falls to Mars Hill Bible
Game 1: Collinsville wins 3-0
Game 2: Mars Hill Bible wins 4-1
Game 3: Mars Hill Bible wins 6-5
After starting hot the Panthers struggled in the back half of the series and end the season going 26-7 with a bright future ahead.
Fyffe swept by Vincent
Game 1: Vincent wins 10-8
Game 2: Vincent wins 7-0
The Red Devils season ends going 22-13.
Piedmont swept by Fayette County
Game 1: Fayette County wins 12-11
Game 2: Fayette County wins 2-1
Plainview swept by Lauderdale County
Game 1: Lauderdale County wins 9-8
Game 2: Lauderdale County wins 1-0
Plainview season ends at 24-9.
Susan Moore swept by Gordo
Game 1: Gordo wins 24-10
Game 2: Gordo wins 1-0
The Bulldogs season ends at 16-10.
