OXFORD — In a rematch of last year's Class 3A state title game, it was Opp softball getting revenge on Plainview.

The game was tied at 2 going into the sixth inning after a back and forth pitcher's duel, mirroring the game on Thursday that ended with Opp winning by a run.

A wild pith by Shianne Parker in the bottom of the sixth gave the Bobcats the lead before Amaya Womack hit a solo home run that traveled more than 240 feet to extend the lead and give the Bobcats the 4-2 state title clinching win.

Unlike Thursday's seven-and-half inning stalemate, the Bears got the scoring going in the first inning when Jada Hampton hit into a fielder's choice, scoring Abby Williams. Opp took the lead in the bottom of the fourth using an error to get on before a triple and then a single scored both runs. The Bears responded with another Jada Hampton RBI single, scoring Graidin Haas.

Hampton ended the state tournament with seven hits, five RBIs, two runs scored as one of the top performers for the Bears. Haas had multiple RBIs in the series. The Bears season comes to a close at 38-11, two wins short of defending their state title.
