Etowah County Democrats to open party headquarters with rally

Democrats in Etowah County will be kicking off the opening of their party's headquarters with a rally on Sept. 8.

The event will be held at 5 p.m. at the headquarters site, 312 Chestnut St.

According to organizers, the rally will include a brief ceremony, a roll call of cities and a focus on the party's theme for Etowah County, “We Chose Freedom.”

Harolyn Morris, chair of the local Democratic Women's Club, will make a presentation in support of the party's presidential ticket, Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

Yard signs and merchandise will be available.

Party officials say the headquarters will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays, beginning Sept. 14, and that days will be extended in October as the Nov. 5 Election Day approaches.
