Florida softball's NCAA Regional journey will have to wait a little longer to begin.

The Gators vs FGCU in the First Round of the Gainesville Regional was set for a noon first pitch.

The game will now begin at 1 p.m.

The later game between FAU and South Alabama will now begin at 3:30 p.m.

Florida comes in as the No. 4 overall seed and off an eight-game win streak. It hosts regionals for the 18th time in program history.

“I think it's a huge privilege. I mean, there's nothing better than sleeping in your own bed, playing on your own field, having your own crowd," Florida senior Skylar Wallace said.

FGCU, meanwhile, won the ASUN Tournament. Florida Atlantic and South Alabama join the Gators at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium this weekend.

The winner will face the victor of the Lafayette Regional with Louisiana-Lafayette, Baylor, Princeton and Ole Miss in Super Regionals.
