Florida football lost a starter in defense in the first half when junior cornerback Devin Moore went down with an apparent shoulder injury,

Moore had his shoulder evaluated by doctors on the sidelines in the first half after making a tackle.

The Florida Gators were counting on the 6-foot-3, 190-pound Moore to match up against bigger receivers in the SEC this season, Moore had three pass breakups and an interception last season.

With Moore out, sophomore Ja'Keem Jackson has played the majority of the half at cornerback opposite Jason Marshall Jr. Miami quarterback Cam Ward has passed for 173 yards and two TDs in the first half, lifting the Hurricanes to a 24-10 halftime lead.

Four Florida players were out before the game began, safety Bryce Thornton, safety Gregory Smith III, wide receiver Ja'Quavion Fraziars and defensive lineman Jarmari Lyons, who is out for the year with a broken ankle.
