    These 10 athletes shined in the latest Gardner-area games. Vote for the best performance.

    Last week, readers voted Sam Morgan of Quabbin baseball The Gardner News Athlete of the Week, getting 49% of the vote. Morgan earned a spot on the poll for his two hits and two RBIs that led to a 12-5 victory over Gardner on May 6.

    Just behind him with 48.63% was Oakmont boys lacrosse

    Jack Norris. Norris scored the winning goal in overtime to defeat Westborough 5-4 on May 9.

    Baseball

    Ben Forbes, Oakmont

    The senior hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh to defeat St. Paul, 3-2, on May 13.

    Steven Gauthier, Murdock

    Gauthier went 2-for-3 with three RBIs in a game against St. Bernard's on May 16. The Blue Devils ultimately lost 7-6 in extra innings.

    Girls Tennis

    Mia Ducos and Haley Ayer, Quabbin

    The doubles pair have gotten into the lineup mix more lately for the Panthers. They defeated their opponents to help Quabbin sweep Gardner 5-0 on May 13.

    Ella Swanson, Gardner

    Swanson got her third singles win of the season on May 14, leading Gardner to a 4-1 victory over West Boylston.

    Boys Track and Field

    Conner Breeds, Quabbin

    Breeds was a double-winner at the Mid-Wach C league championship meet on May 15. He placed first in the 100 meters with a time of 0:11.53 and the 200 meters with a time of 0:23.51.

    Jordan Baumann, Narragansett Regional

    Baumann won two events at the Mid-Wach E league championship meet on May 14 – 110-meter hurdles (0:16.13) and high jump (5-04).

    Girls Track and Field

    Avery Murphy, Murdock

    Murphy was a double winner in the league championship meet on May 14. She placed first in the 800 meterS and the mile with times of 2:27.99 and 5:14.82, respectively.

    Girls Golf

    Kylie and Makenzie Casey, Quabbin

    Sisters Kylie and Makenzie Casey each shot a 34 on May 17 to defeat Ayer-Shirley 21-8.5.
