Timpany Crossroads filling up as Jersey Mike's prepares to open in Gardner: What you need to know

Jersey Mike's , the fast casual sub sandwich shop, is scheduled to open in Gardner on Wednesday, Aug. 21, pending all final inspections and approvals, according to a franchise representative. Signage was recently erected on the store's Timpany Crossroads location.

The franchise, which is relatively new to the New England market, recently held a recruitment drive for employees to work at its Gardner location. The store was looking to hire between 15 and 20 employees, according to a representative.

Jersey Mike's, which has more than 2,500 locations nationwide, is one of the fastest-growing fast-casual brands in the country.

Five Below , the retail chain popular with teens and tweens because of its "treasure hunt"-style of shopping, opened its Gardner location at Timpany Plaza on Friday, Aug. 2.
