Corrections and clarifications

• An article ( Children’s daily sugar intake ‘halved’ one year after levy on industry , 10 July, p6) was wrong to state that the decrease occurred within a year of the tax being introduced, in April 2018. The intake reduction, which related to soft drinks, took place in the period after the tax was announced (April 2016 to January 2019).

• We mistakenly gave the BBC licence fee as £159; it rose to £169.50 on 1 April 2024 ( Starmer makes commitment​ to BBC licence​ fee model , 13 July, p16, later editions).
