When Hamas rockets appeared overhead at the Nova festival in Israel in 2023, the revellers mistook them for fireworks. The truth was more terrifying than they could have imagined. This horrifying film from Storyville keeps a tight, minute-by-minute focus on the events as they were experienced by the partygoers. There is no exploration of the wider context – “this film cannot tell everybody’s story,” says a disclaimer. But it is a reminder that to fail to sympathise with innocent civilians on both sides of the conflict is to lose your humanity. Phil Harrison

JonBenét Ramsey was murdered in 1996 and the case is still shrouded in mystery. This documentary explores the story in all its horror and hears from JonBenét’s father, John, who was initially viewed as a suspect, but now campaigns for the police department in Boulder, Colorado, to release evidence he feels will crack the case open. A sixth series of the effortlessly enjoyable comedy drama starring Joseph Gilgun and Michelle Keegan. As we return, there is some unfinished business involving guns and weed.
