    Dripping Springs Tigers compete at 24 Hawks Relays

    DRIPPING SPRINGS — The Dripping Springs Tigers competed in their first meet of the season on Feb. 8 at the Hawks Relays, hosted by Hays High School. The Tigers Boys Division 1 finished in second place with 133 points. The Johnson High School Jaguars captured the team title with 209.5 points. The Tigers Girls Division 1 finished in third place with 113 points. Fredericksburg High School captured first place with 170 points and Johnson High School finished in second place with 136 points. A few notable first place finishes for the Tiger Boys are as follows: • 3200m Run - Wes Anderson - First Place - Time 9:57 • 4x100m Relay- Hunter Hudson, Kyle Koch, Jackson Mills and Croix Dacunha - First Place - Time 42.89 • 2x200m Relay- Jandre VanDerWalt, Jackson Mills, Kyle Koch and Croix Dacunha - First Place - Time 1:30.50 • Long Jump Finals - Croix Dacunha - First Place - 21'-8' A few notable top finishes for the Tiger Girls are as follows: • 3200m Run - Sophia Vences - Third Place - Time 12.02.05 • 100m Hurdles - Emmerson Martinez - Second Place - Time 17.46 • 4x200 (800m) Relays - Megan Hancock, Rylea Bernhard, Lucy Fredenburg and Kaleigh Howell - First Place - Time 1:46.83 • 400m Dash - Kaleigh Howell - 2nd Place - Time 1:01.27 • 300m Hurdles - Megan Hancock 2nd Place - Time 50.70 • 1600m Run - Lucy Fredenburg - 1st Place - Time 5:23.67 The Tigers Boys Division 2 finished in second place and the Tiger Girls Division 2 captured first place. The Tigers next track meet will be on Saturday, Feb. 17 — the team will host its 29th Annual Tiger Relays with over 10 schools participating. Pole vault and the 3200-meter run will be at 8 a.m., while field events will be at 9 a.m. Running events will be at 1 p.m., or 30 minutes following the conclusion of field events.
