    Who were the champions of the Washington County Public Schools Tennis Tournament?

    The Washington County Public Schools Tennis Tournament was held May 8 and May 13 at South Hagerstown. The tournament included boys team and girls team championships, as well as five divisions -- boys singles, girls singles, boys doubles, girls doubles and mixed doubles.

    In the boys team standings, Clear Spring won with 20 points, Williamsport was second with 16, Boonsboro was third with 15, North Hagerstown was fourth with 13, South Hagerstown was fifth with 10 and Smithsburg was sixth with five.

    In the girls team standings, South Hagerstown won with 20 points, Williamsport and Boonsboro tied for second with 18, Clear Spring was fourth with 15, North Hagerstown was fifth with 11 and Smithsburg was sixth with one.

    Boys Singles

    First Round

    • Brady Ernst (CS) d. Beverungen, 6-0, 6-0
    • Paul Gray (Sm) d. Evan Troxell (SH), 6-3, 6-2

    • Mason Bauer (W) d. Cesar Pedraza (CS), 6-2, 6-1

    Notes: Bauer, who is 12-5 at No. 1 singles, won his second straight county boys singles championship. Ernst is 12-6 at No. 1 singles.

    Notes: Toms, who is 17-0 at No. 1 singles, won her third straight county singles title. She reached the Maryland Class 1A final two years ago and finished third at states last year. She is 41-1 over the last two seasons. Warren is 15-3 in singles this year, mostly at No. 2 behind Toms.

    Notes: Dillon Albowicz and Rankin, who also reached the county final a year ago, are 18-0 this season. Wyatt Albowicz and Crampton are 14-2, largely playing No. 2 doubles behind their teammates.
