MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — The body of a woman found in May in Martinsburg, W.Va., has been identified as Samantha Jane Daily, 32, of Charles Town, W.Va., according to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office.

Her body was discovered after firefighters were called for a reported couch on fire in the 100 block of Golf Course Road in Martinsburg, according to a release from the sheriff's office.

Her remains were sent for DNA analysis for positive identification, but investigators were contacted by Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office regarding a female missing from their home confinement program, and investigators from Berkeley and Jefferson counties began tracking her locations, leading them to a suspect.

The suspect, David Antonio Calderon, 46, of El Salvador, was charged May 10 with murder after being arrested in Frederick County, Va., on outstanding warrants for malicious assault from Jefferson County, the release said.
