On Saturday, Aug. 17, at Hagerstown City Park members of Girl Scout Troop 15141 held their first Bridging Ceremony, a celebration of the scouts' achievements and their advancement within the Girl Scout ranks.

Six of the troop's nine scouts crossed a bridge in the park, symbolizing their moves from Daisy to Brownie to Junior to Cadette.

Friends and family were present to share poems and memorable moments from the past year.

As each scout stepped off the bridge, they were given their new uniforms and ribbons, with badges and insignia representing their new rank.

The crowd was treated to a rendition of the classic Girl Scout tune "Make New Friends."

The day wrapped up with the Girl Scouts' traditional "Friendship Circle," a reminder of the bonds that unite Girl Scouts around the world.

Formed in November 2023, Troop 15141 meets weekly at Christ Lutheran Church. The troop is always ready to welcome new members. To learn more, send an email to Danielle at Troop15141@gmail.com.
