There was one county game on Thursday. Here's what happened:

    Saint James 37, Allegany 33

Jayden Yates threw three touchdown passes and ran for another score to lead the Saints (4-2) over the visiting Campers (1-4).

His 1-yard TD run with 41 seconds remaining gave Saint James its first lead of the game at 37-33.

"He's such a great athlete, a leader," said coach John Root, whose Saints trailed 27-18 midway through the third quarter and 33-25 early in the fourth. "On the sideline, I can just never count these kids out because they don't quit. They don't die. They're going to battle to the end."

A highlight of the game was a 53-yard field goal by Saint James' Jorge Diaz Nicolas to set a Washington County record. The previous record was 47 yards, shared by three different kickers.

"He's got more. He can kick it further than that," Root said. "He's one of the best kickers I've seen. It's weird. As a coach, you want to showcase him, but you want to score touchdowns."

Yates connected with Calvin Moss for touchdowns of 70 and 25 yards and threw a 9-yard TD pass to Marcello Anderson.

The Saints' other TD came on a 2-yard run by Liam Hall.

For Allegany, Jackson Resh and Khiante Bible each rushed for two TDs, and Aidyn McKenzie ran for a score.
