In need of a pick-me-up, or warm-up as the cool weather sets in? Greater Fall River has a coffee shop for that.

In fact, this region runneth over with quaint, cozy and quirky places to escape the daily grind and indulge in some not-your-average joe.

These local cafes take their coffee seriously, brewing up a wide array of flavorful, freshly-brewed beverages to perk up anyone's day — from your basic, no-frills coffee to fancy specialty blends to iced brews, lattes, and more.

While high-quality coffee is No. 1 on the checklist for any notable shop, one can't survive on coffee alone. So a place that offers treats and breakfast/lunch eats — with a variety of sweet and savory options — is a plus.

Whether your day calls for a grab-and-go visit — either counter service or drive-thru — or you prefer a comfy spot to sit and relax as you enjoy your joe, the Fall River area is serving up options for both.

Atmosphere is also a key factor. Good vibes — friendly staff, fun decor with the presence of plant friends, and a view — and a sense of community — with lounge areas to converse with company — give it an extra edge.

Now that we've laid the ground rules for the makings of a standout java joint, it's time to spill the beans.

Check out the list below and pick your favorite local coffee stop. Votes will be pouring in through Sunday, Oct. 13, and a winner will be announced shortly thereafter.
