Brayden Ault, Edgewood baseball
Started off pitching five innings, giving up five hits, no runs and striking out 10 in a win over Bloomfield while going 2-for-4. Finished the week 6-of-12 at the plate with three RBIs.
Eden Bailey, South girls' track
Senior put together a strong sectional card, winning the 200 dash in 26.38 and earning a third seed in the regional. Also ran the leadoff leg for the sectional winning the 1,600 relay (4:07.67) and had the third leg for the runner-up 400 relay (50.45) that ran a season-best time.
Madi Bland, Edgewood softball
Outfielder went 6-of-11 with two homers and five RBI with four runs scored as the Mustangs finished the season with a 3-0 week over Western Indiana Conference foes.
Kinsey Clopton, South softball
Senior had quite the day in a 10-0 win over Southport, tossing a five-inning perfect game with 14 strikeouts and also driving in three runs.
Kendyl Feutz, North softball
Went three innings in relief, giving up just one hit and no runs with six strikeouts in a 5-4 win over Southport. Also went 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI. Went five innings, giving up just two hits and one run with nine strikeouts in a loss to Orleans.
Happy Gilmore, South golf
Had the round of a lifetime at Cascades on Thursday, shooting a 10-under par 61. Followed up with another impressive round, shooting a four-under 68 at The Players Club to earn medalist honors at the Muncie Invitational, beating the Wessel Brothers from Guerin Catholic for the title and leading the Panthers to a two-stroke win over No. 2 GC and No. 1 Hamilton Southeastern. Started the week with a two-under 70 to win medalist honors and lead the Panthers to another Conference Indiana title at Timbergate.
Jaidyn Johnson, North boys track
In his first meet back in the month of May, Johnson broke the sectional records in the 100 (10.57) and 200 (21.66) to help the Cougars win a fifth straight sectional team title.
Khaliq Akou, South boys track
qualified for regional twice with an 11.20 for third in the 100 and a career-best 22.42 for second in the 200. Also anchored the 400 relay to a win in a season-best 43.17.
Peyton Lewis, Eastern Greene baseball
Junior slugger hit .300 on the week with five RBIs and a 1.264 OPS, hitting two home runs including a grand slam that tied the game in an eventual 9-8 loss to Edgewood.
Owen Valley girls 3,200 relay
Mallory Owen, Bailey Kay, Alli Anderson and Lily Smith broke the school record for the second time this season with a 10:22.87 for third place at the North Sectional.
Kenli Sullivan, North girls track
Junior had a career-best high jump of 5-2 to win the North Sectional title for the first time.
Hannah Vandeventer & Carla Demeter, South girls tennis
Vandeventer and freshman Demeter pulled out a 7-5, 6-2 victory at No. 1 doubles to help the Panthers beat Bloomington North, 5-0, in the sectional final. They had a 6-4, 6-1 win in the victory over Brown County in the semifinals.
