The Hill Country Men’s Golf Association (MGA) played at Onion Creek in Austin on June 3 with 52 golfers competing for the prize money.

The weather was a little warm but the good news is this is the last tournament until September.

That tournament will be at the River Crossing Golf Club on Sept. 4.

The Onion Creek tournament consisted of a four-man team – two best ball net event with 13 teams competing.

First place winners were Kyle Taylor, Ken Taylor, Matt Tuggey and a blind draw, Palmer Moe, for the fourth player.

Second place winners were John Cole, Gene Blanchard, Olle Lorehn and Palmer Moe. Third place was won by Phil Gatton, Dennis Cavner, Jim Woodruff and Dennis Bentley. Fourth place was won by Keith Compton, Mike Ryther, Doug Bernard and James Lawrence.

Despite windy playing conditions and tricky greens, there were six winners of the closest to the pin.

Keith Compton on hole #2, Phil Gatton on hole #7, Kyle Taylor on hole #11, Steven Gellman on hole #13 and a tie on hole #17 between James Lawrence and Mark Myogeto.

They each received a dozen golf balls courtesy of Arrowhead Bank. Thanks for a great round and we’ll see you in September. Sign up will begin in August. For more information and membership applications, visit hillcountrymga.org.
