Actor Tony Goldwyn argued an endorsement of Vice President Harris’s presidential run from global superstars Taylor Swift and Beyoncé could be “significant” to her election prospects.

Goldwyn, who was the entertainment host for the first night of this week’s Democratic National Convention, told Variety magazine he believes the November election will be “won on the margins” and that “every bit helps.”

“I really hope [Swift and Beyoncé] do come out for her because from what I read and can see Kamala’s values align with theirs,” he told Variety in an interview released Tuesday.

“They’re incredibly powerful women and I think it could be significant. I don’t know if many people vote based on how their music icons vote, but just as in sports, momentum is everything. If you can add to that momentum, it’s only to the good,” he added.

Neither Swift nor Beyoncé have endorsed any candidate for U.S. president this cycle, and representatives for the singers did not immediately respond to The Hill’s request for comment.

While Beyoncé has not formally backed Harris, the Grammy Award winner allowed the vice president to use her song “Freedom” at an address at Democratic campaign headquarters in Wilmington, Del., shortly after launching her bid last month.

The “Single Ladies” singer endorsed the Biden-Harris ticket in 2020, and in 2016 headlined a preelection concert alongside her husband, Jay-Z, for then-Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in Cleveland.

Swift, who is on the international leg of her world “Eras” tour, has faced repeated speculation regarding whether she will give her nod to the Democratic ticket. She voiced her support for President Biden during the 2020 presidential election in an interview with V magazine.

Goldwyn is one of various famous figures who have argued Swift could help boost the Democratic presidential ticket. Some have pointed to Swift’s single Instagram post last year directing her followers to the nonpartisan, nonprofit Vote.org that led to 35,000 new voter registrations .

Goldwyn, a Democratic activist, was one of four celebrities tapped as a nightly host for the Democratic convention in Chicago.

He told Variety it was “thrilling” meeting Harris for the first time Monday.

“Honestly have never felt energy like that,” Goldwyn said of walking on the convention stage. “It was like walking onto a giant wave. I was very honored to be asked to do it.”

Ana Navarro, co-host of ABC’s “The View” and a Republican strategist who has broken with the party’s support of former President Trump, is on tap for Tuesday night, while actors Mindy Kaling and Kerry Washington will host Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.
