CHICAGO — Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker (D) contrasted Donald Trump and Vice President Harris as “the man who left our country a total mess and the woman who has spent four years cleaning it up” while speaking on the second night of the Democratic National Convention.

Pritzker, who has long been floated as a future presidential contender, said “it’s time we stop expecting women to clean up messes without the authority and the title to match the job.”

The Illinois governor, who’s in his second term in office, also attacked the former president over his past comments in which he previously called Chicago “embarrassing” and for suggesting that wind turbines made whales “batty.”

Pritzker used the speech to tout his own record in office, noting the state passed legislation that would devote $45 million into infrastructure, including roads and bridges, and for getting rid of the grocery tax.

He also used his speech to poke fun at himself as he spoke about billionaires.

“During COVID we supported small businesses and jobs. And Donald – well Donald told us to inject bleach. Donald Trump thinks that we should trust him on the economy because he claims to be very rich,” he said.

“But take it from an actual billionaire,” Pritzker said, “Trump is rich in only one thing – stupidity.”
