In a freewheeling conversation on Theo Von’s podcast, former President Trump quizzed the comedian about cocaine addiction, at one point asking him if the drug has a “stronger up.”

During Tuesday’s episode of “This Past Weekend,” Von shared his experience with the drug and with addiction, noting he no longer uses cocaine.

The former president asked if the drug was “too much to handle.”

“Some of the stuff started to get a real rattle in it, too,” Von responded. “I don’t know where we were even getting it from in this country, but yeah, it started to make me feel like I was a mechanic or something.”

“So the thing you go back to then is alcohol, for the most part?” Trump asked the Louisiana-born comedian.

Von confirmed, adding, “but what I want probably is cocaine, but I know that if I have a drink, then it’ll give me — it’ll be like, OK, well, I had a drink, then I can do this.”

“Is cocaine a stronger up?” the former president asked.

“Yeah,” Von replied. “So you’re way up with cocaine, more than anything else you can think of. Cocaine will turn you into a damn owl, homie. You know what I’m saying? You’ll be out on your own porch. You’ll be your own streetlamp.”

Trump then asked if that was a good feeling. Von said it is a “miserable” feeling, but “you do it anyway, just like the guy you’re saying with the scotch.”

On the episode, Trump discussed a variety of other topics, including health care, the opioid crisis, lobbying, handling of the U.S.-Mexico border and recent developments in the 2024 presidential election. He also talked about his relationship with his family.

Last week, Von spoke with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on his podcast, and the two discussed health care.
