Ramaswamy hits Democrats for making Project 2025 into a ‘boogeyman’

Former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy criticized Democrats for making the conservative strategy Project 2025 into a “boogeyman.”

“They’ve turned Project 2025 into the equivalent of this boogeyman, like they had of Russian interference in the 2016 election,” the entrepreneur told Blake Burman on NewsNation’s “The Hill.”

“That’s what they’re trying to create, this false boogeyman. I think it’s falling flat.”

Ramaswamy was speaking Thursday from the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, where he was a surprise attendee .

Democrats at this week’s convention have sought to draw attention to Project 2025, the policy platform created by The Heritage Foundation for the next Republican administration.

Former President Trump has said he has nothing to do with the plan, but Democrats have tried to tie a second Trump term with the conservative agenda.

Republicans have ramped up attacks on Vice President Harris and her campaign’s policy stance.

Earlier Thursday, Ramaswamy said he sees a “gaping, wide-open opportunity” for the GOP to go harder on Harris’s policy record. He pointed to instances where Harris backed away from some of her previous positions that she held during her 2020 presidential campaign.

Ahead of Harris’s official nomination acceptance speech, Ramaswamy said Trump has offered the American people his policy vision, but the Democratic nominee has not.

“The reality is, both candidates have an obligation to tell the people of this country where they actually stand. Donald Trump’s done it,” Ramaswamy said. “You may agree or not, but at least he’s given you clear policy proposals. Kamala hasn’t done it.”
