The Democratic National Committee (DNC) unveiled billboards Friday in Pennsylvania claiming that former President Trump threatens access to in vitro fertilization (IVF), ahead of his rally in the Keystone State.

In a statement exclusively sent to The Hill, the DNC argued Trump has lied about his position on IVF and wants to ban the procedure. The billboards went up in Johnstown, where Trump is campaigning later Friday.

“Donald Trump’s Project 2025 undermines reproductive care and threatens IVF,” the billboard reads.

Another billboard says, “Trump overturned Roe, threatening the future of IVF.”

“Trump can lie about his position on IVF all he wants, but his own 2024 platform threatens to effectively ban IVF and abortion nationwide. Trump overturned Roe v. Wade and opened the door to the flood of threats we are now witnessing to IVF, with fetal personhood bills prevalent in 19 states and counting,” DNC spokesperson Addy Toevs said.

Trump said Thursday that his administration, if he’s elected, would protect access to IVF and have either the government or insurance companies pay for the treatment. While IVF has been a central issue for voters after the Alabama Supreme Court’s ruling that frozen embryos are considered people, Trump has said he supports IVF use and protections for it.

Democrats have tried to tie Trump to Project 2025, which is the Heritage Foundation’s plan for a future GOP administration. Trump has worked to distance himself from it.

Trump said in July that Project 2025 goes “way too far” on abortion. The plan calls for revoking Food and Drug Administration approval of the abortion pill mifepristone and suggests using a 19th century law called the Comstock Act to prosecute people who send abortion pills or other abortion tools through the mail.
