Vice President Harris’s campaign raised $47 million in the 24 hours after the debate against former President Trump, a campaign official said Thursday.

The haul was driven by grassroots supporters, with nearly 600,000 individuals making a donation in that period.

The haul was Harris’s biggest 24-hour fundraising stretch since she launched her presidential run after President Biden dropped out of the race and passed the torch to her.

During the first hour of the debate, a campaign official told The Hill that 71 percent of grassroots donations going to Harris came from women.

In announcing the haul, the Harris campaign warned against declaring the debate a victory for Harris because there is a long road ahead before November, and money still is flowing to Trump through PACs and outside groups.

“We’re not just running against Donald Trump and his campaign. We’re running against an entire army of MAGA-aligned super PACs and outside groups,” campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillon said.

Harris’s sharp debate performance has been praised by Democrats and pundits, especially given her ability to bait Trump into going off message. A CNN flash poll found that 63 percent of viewers believed she outperformed Trump.

The Harris campaign raised $361 million in August and had $404 million cash on hand at the end of the month. Meanwhile, the Trump campaign raised $130 million last month.

The Harris campaign said its August haul was the best grassroots fundraising month in presidential history after nearly 3 million donors contributed throughout the month and 1.3 million donors contributed for the first time this cycle.
