Trump knocks ‘loser’ Colbert after interview on PBS

Former President Trump took a shot at “Late Show” host Stephen Colbert after the comedian called Trump “boring” during a recent interview on PBS.

“I briefly watched an interview of Stephen Colbert on highly government subsidized PBS, and found it fascinating for only one reason — Why would they be wasting time and the public’s money on this complete and total loser?” Trump wrote late Tuesday on his Truth Social website. “He is not funny, which he gets paid far too much to be, he is not wise, he is VERY BORING, and his show is dying from a complete lack of viewers.”

Trump then praised Fox News host Greg Gutfeld, who he said is “killing” Colbert in the ratings.

“CBS should terminate his contract and pick almost anyone, right off the street, who would do better, and for FAR LESS MONEY,” Trump continued. “Or I could recommend someone, much more talented, and smarter, who would do it for FREE! The good news for Stephen is that the two DOPES on NBC & ABC are not much better than him!”

During a sit-down with “PBS NewsHour” this week, Colbert was asked if he would be open to hosting Trump on CBS’s “Late Show,” the program he has hosted since 2015.

“I’ve had him before, and he was kind of boring, so no,” the comedian responded . “I don’t like to have people on the show who I don’t think are going to be honest agents of their own ideas.”

Colbert said “there are many politicians I wouldn’t want to talk to, that I think do not honestly represent what they actually believe,” adding Trump would “rather just play to a crowd. So that’s just no fun.”

Trump regularly attacks late night hosts such as Colbert and ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel. He also often criticizes the news coverage of the networks that employ the late-night hosts.

Trump last week sat for a wide-ranging conversation with Gutfeld on his eponymous program, which Fox News launched last year as a right-wing alternative to the late night slate on the broadcast networks.

Colbert is just mean and he needs to stay out of politics.
