Watch live: White House holds press briefing as Zelensky visits

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre will brief reporters Thursday as President Biden and Vice President Harris meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The remarks come a day after Biden reaffirmed the U.S.’s commitment to supporting Ukraine in its war with Russia.

Also Thursday, Biden and Harris are expected to deliver a speech in the Rose Garden on the matter of addressing gun violence in the U.S.

The president is coming off his trip to New York, where he addressed the United Nations General Assembly for the last time as president. The vice president is coming off the campaign trail fresh from a trip the day before to Pittsburgh.

Jean-Pierre will also be joined by Federal Emergency Management Agency Administrator Deanne Criswell as Florida braces for Hurricane Helene.

The briefing is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. EDT.
