    Trump leads Harris by 2 points in North Carolina poll

    Former President Trump is narrowly outpacing Vice President Harris in the battleground state of North Carolina, new polling shows.

    The Emerson College/RealClearWorld survey released Thursday, revealed that Trump leads Harris in the state with 49.6 percent saying they would vote for him if the election were held today compared to 47.9 percent who the same of Harris.

    When other candidates are added, Trump’s lead widens to 2 points, 50.2 percent to 48.2 percent, the survey showed.

    A large majority, 71.9 percent, of respondents also said they were very likely to vote, the poll found. About 28 percent said they had already cast their ballot after early voting opened last week.

    Voters in North Carolina had a slightly more favorable view of Harris, with 39.1 percent having a very favorable view of her compared to the 35.8 percent who said the same of Trump, the survey revealed.

    The percentage of respondents who had very unfavorable views of Trump and Harris were similar, with 45.7 percent viewing the vice president very unfavorably compared to the 44.7 percent who said the same of the GOP presidential nominee, the poll found.

    The top issues for voters in North Carolina were the economy at 39.7 percent and threats to democracy at 14 percent. Immigration and housing affordability were tied at 10.5 percent, the data shows.

    With less than two weeks left until the election, Trump has a razor-thin lead over his Democratic rival in the Tar Heel State . The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s polling aggregate shows the former president with 49.1 percent support compared to Harris’s 47.6 percent.

    The Emerson/RealClearWorld poll, conducted from Oct. 21-22, surveyed 950 likely voters in North Carolina. The margin of error is 3.1 percentage points.
