PORT SHELDON TWP. — A Muskegon man accused of hitting a woman's car, following her and assaulting her in a parking lot on Sept. 8 in Port Sheldon Township has two previous convictions for similar assaults dating back to the 1980s, according to reporting from WOOD TV-8 .

Greg Joseph DuJardine, 60, was arraigned Friday, Sept 20, in 58th District Court before Judge Bradley Knoll on charges of second-degree criminal sexual conduct causing injury and as a fourth offense habitual offender. His bond was set at $500,000 and he's lodged at the Ottawa County Jail.

But according to reporting from WOOD TV-8, this has happened before. In 1986, DuJardine was found guilty of second-degree CSC. According to court documents, an employee at a self-service gas station in Grand Haven was searching for her car keys after work on April 24, 1986, when DuJardine assaulted her. He was sentenced to 2-15 years in prison.

In 1989, DuJardine was found guilty of first-degree CSC after raping a park attendant in Ottawa County. According to court documents obtained by WOOD, DuJardine hit the park attendant in the head in July 1988 before assaulting her in a storage room in Ferrysburg.

He was sentenced to life behind bars, but according to the Michigan Department of Corrections, he was paroled in January of this year.

Around 8:05 p.m. Sept. 8, the victim in the most recent case was traveling south on US-31 when police say DuJardine's vehicle hit hers near Lake Michigan Drive. DuJardine allegedly followed the 24-year-old Grand Haven woman until she pulled into a gas station in the Stanton Corners area, thinking he might want to file a police report for the crash.

When the drivers exited their vehicles, DuJardine allegedly assaulted the victim, touching her inappropriately. She fought him off and called police while DuJardine fled, according to OCSO. The victim suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics with AMR Ambulance. The Sentinel does not identify victims of sexual assault.

DuJardine was taken into custody on Sept. 9. He was initially jailed in Muskegon County for violating his parole. After his arrest, detectives presented the case to the Ottawa County Prosecutor’s Office.

Formal charges were authorized Sept. 19, and DuJardine was taken to the Ottawa County Jail.

He is expected back in court next month.
