Tulip Time announces Top 20 for 2025 Poster Contest

HOLLAND — As the days get shorter and the leaves start to change, Tulip Time is looking two seasons ahead.

The festival announced the finalists for its annual First Bloem Festival Artwork Competition on Wednesday, Oct. 9.

The competition invites local artists from counties Ottawa, Allegan, Kent, Muskegon and Kalamazoo to submit work for consideration. This year, 93 pieces were submitted by 54 artists. The winning design will become the official poster for the 2025 Tulip Time Festival , and will be featured on various merchandise.

This year’s finalists include:

• Elizabeth Bombara's “Grand Collective"
• Alla Dickson's "The Gift of Presence"
• Judy Giles' "Coaxing the Tulips to Dance"
• Karen Johnson's "Nothing but Tulips"
• Mary Ellen Kettelhut's "Windswept"
• Kate Moynihan's "Flourishing Tulips"
• Erin Mullis' "Dorothy and the Tin Woodsman"
• Erin Mullis' "Sweet Grass and Tulip Fields"
• Heather Persch's "Gertrude's Garden"
• Tammi Radomski's "Klompen Time"
• Andrea Rich's "Tulip Medley"
• Conni Schaftenaar's "Colorful Tulips"
• Andrew Snyder's "Blooms on Parade"
• Carolyn Stich's "Beaming Joy"
• Alissa Volbeda's "Floral Symphony"
• Alissa Volbeda's "Holland Blauw"
• Dameris Wahl's "Abstract of Tulips"
• Emily Wells' "Tulip Tide"

Finalists were selected by juror Michael Burmeister, owner of Button Gallery in Douglas.

The winner will be announced in late February. Recent winners of the competition include John Cowden (2024), Kristen Doversberger (2023) and Kate Moynihan (2022).
