Walton Goggins Was Shocked by Expensive Bill During Hotel Stay for ‘The White Lotus’ Season 3

Walton Goggins is gearing up for his next big role following his Emmy nomination for playing The Ghoul in Fallout with a stay at The White Lotus for season three. But he learned the hard way that a stay at the luxurious resort comes with a steep price in real life, as well.

While appearing on The Late Show , Goggins shared that he had just returned from Thailand after shooting The White Lotus ‘ third season for the past six months. Host Stephen Colbert tried his best to get the actor to share any details about HBO’s hit series’ latest installment, with no luck at getting spoilers.

“I can’t tell you about the story of the character that I’m playing because I think [creator] Mike White would literally take one of us out,” said Goggins. However, he did share a surprising story from shooting the show.

“You get to stay at a five-star [hotel], but what they don’t tell you when you when you check in to the White Lotus is how expensive it is to check out of the White Lotus,” he divulged. Goggins clarified that while castmembers didn’t have to pay for their room in the hotel used both for accommodations and as a shooting location, they did have to pay for their incidentals.

“I swear this is a true story — not just for me but for everybody — six weeks into it, I go to pay my bill,” he recalled. “I looked at my bill and I started laughing. Literally, [a hotel staffer] handed me the bill and I started laughing like, ‘Ha, yeah right! You guys are joking.'”

The hotel staff then confirmed that it was indeed his bill. “You’re telling me Thai spiced cashews cost that much money?” Goggins remembered questioning. When Colbert asked the actor how many cashews he ended up eating for his bill to be so costly, Goggins admitted, “I thought I had maybe, like, five. And they said, ‘No, you had 30.'”

He additionally confessed to having purchased a $150 bottle of prosecco. “Is that what this is? Is that a $150 photograph?” asked Colbert while holding up a photo of the actor holding up the bottle by the ocean. “It was a good time, it was a really good time,” replied Goggins.

Besides Goggins, the cast for The White Lotus season three includes Carrie Coon, Scott Glenn, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, Leslie Bibb, Blackpink member Lisa (credited as Lalisa Manobal), Dom Hetrakul, Jason Isaacs, Tayme Thapthimthong, Sarah Catherine Hook, Sam Nivola, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Aimee Lou Wood, Nicholas Duvernay, Francesca Corney, Arnas Fedaravicius, Christian Friedel, Morgana O’Reilly, Lek Patravadi and Shalini Peiris. It is slated to premiere in 2025.
