After showing brief glimpses of Twilight of the Gods earlier this year, Netflix is offering a more extensive look at the animated series from Zack Snyder.

The streamer has released a full trailer for the series, which takes Norse mythology as its source material — featuring a vengeful, very much not Marvel-influenced Thor and a still-scheming Loki. The show centers on Sigrid (voiced by Sylvia Hoeks), a fierce warrior who saves King Leif (Stuart Martin) in battle. After they marry, the couple “survive a wrath of terror from Thor (Pilou Asbæk), which sets them and a crew of crusaders on an against-all-odds and merciless mission for vengeance,” per the show’s description. Watch the trailer below.

Snyder’s producing partner and wife, Deborah Snyder, told The Hollywood Reporter at a Netflix event in June that the streamer offered them creative freedom in making Twilight of the Gods : “We pitched them an outline; they had a few notes but they let us have free rein. They had no guardrails, no limitations.” The medium itself also encourages boundary-pushing, she added, saying “In animation you can do things that you can’t afford to do in live action. You can stylize them in any way you can imagine them to be. There’s a lot of possibilities for creativity.”

The voice cast of Twilight of the Gods also includes Rahul Kohli, Paterson Joseph, Jamie Clayton, Birgitte Hjort Sørensen,  Kristofer Hivju, Thea Sofie Loch Næss, John Noble and Peter Stormare.

Stone Quarry Animation produces the series, which Zack Snyder, Jay Oliva and Eric Carrasco co-created. Zack and Deborah Snyder executive produce with Wesley Coller and Oliva. The animation house is Xilam Animation. Zack Snyder directed the first and last episodes; Oliva, Carrasco and Andrew Tamandl, with Tim Divar and Dave Hartman, also directed.

Twilight of the Gods premieres Sept. 19.
