Ebon Moss-Bachrach has won best supporting actor in a comedy series at the 2024 Emmys . The win marks The Bear star’s second year in a row winning the award.

“I’m so grateful for this show and to work with these beautiful people; Chris [Storer, creator], thank you so much, I love you so much,” Moss-Bachrach said as he accepted the award presented by Only Murders in the Building stars and fellow 2024 Emmy nominees Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez. “Thank you to my parents for taking such nice care of my cat,” the actor later added, “and thanks to Miri and Sasha, my sweet daughters.”

In a previous interview , Moss-Bachrach said the fandom that comes with starring on The Bear from FX/Hulu three seasons in is, at times, overwhelming.

“I was on top of a little mountain outside Kyoto and a Korean couple came up to me and were saying how much they love the show,” he told The Guardian . “I get a lot of comments,” he added. “People yell ‘Cousin!’ at me all day. Sometimes, you know, you’re just not having a great day. And it’s just like: ‘I’m sorry, man, I don’t have much for you.’”

The Bear has won a total of 20 Emmys from 36 nominations, making it the most nominated comedy in history. Following his win, co-star Liza Colón-Zayas became the first Latina to win best supporting actress in a comedy series, and lead Jeremy Allen White won best actor in a comedy series , also for the second year in a row.

When creator Christopher Storer took the win for best directing a comedy later in the night, the series set a new record for most wins in a single season for a comedy with 11, besting its own tally from last year when it won 10.
